What is National Sovereignty Day?
National Sovereignty Day on November 20 commemorates the 1845 Battle of Vuelta de Obligado, when Argentine forces resisted an Anglo-French fleet on the Paraná River. It was made a national holiday in 1974 to honour the defence of the country's rivers and sovereignty.
