What is August Moon Festival?

The August Moon Festival is Greece's annual celebration of the full moon in August, when the country's archaeological sites, museums, and monuments open their doors after hours for concerts, theatrical performances, poetry readings, and guided tours beneath moonlight. From the Acropolis and the Roman Agora in Athens to ancient theatres across the islands, more than a hundred sites participate in a single night of culture and starlight. Locals and visitors gather where the past meets the moonlit present.
