What is The Jaisalmer Desert Festival?
The Jaisalmer Desert Festival is a three-day celebration of Rajasthani culture held every February in the golden city of Jaisalmer, India. Folk music and dance, camel polo and races, turban-tying contests, and processions against the backdrop of the Sam Sand Dunes bring the Thar Desert to vivid life. The festival culminates under the full moon with a sound-and-light show that lights up the sandstone walls of the fort.
