What is Kwanzaa?

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration from December 26 to January 1 honoring African heritage in African-American culture. Created in 1966 by Maulana Karenga, it celebrates seven core principles: unity, self-determination, collective work, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
