What is LGBTQ+ History Month?
LGBTQ+ History Month celebrates the achievements, struggles, and trailblazers of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community. Founded in 1994 by U.S. teacher Rodney Wilson, it is observed in October in the United States, timed around National Coming Out Day, while the UK marks it in February. It provides role models and educates about LGBTQ+ contributions to society.
