What is Flower Fair?
The Flower Fair, known locally as Feria de las Flores, transforms Medellín into a vibrant celebration of floral artistry and Colombian pride. Founded in 1957 by tourism promoter Arturo Uribe as a modest five-day festival with 40 silleteros (flower-carrying farmers), it has grown into a ten-day celebration drawing visitors from around the world. The signature Silleteros Parade sees locals carry towering, elaborate flower arrangements on their backs, alongside music, dance, and food honoring the region's growers.
