What is National Marine Week?
National Marine Week, observed in late July in the United Kingdom, is an annual celebration organized by The Wildlife Trusts to highlight the rich biodiversity of Britain's seas and coastlines. The event encourages people to discover, explore, and protect the marine environment through rockpooling, guided snorkeling, and beach clean-ups. Britain's seas are home to thousands of species, from seals and dolphins to colorful anemones and starfish. The week raises awareness of the threats facing ocean habitats, including plastic pollution, climate change, and overfishing.
