National Tequila Day toasts the iconic Mexican spirit distilled from blue agave, the star of margaritas and countless cocktails. Tequila's roots run deep — its ancestor pulque was made as early as 150 BC — and true tequila must be at least 51% blue agave from regions like Jalisco. Mexico officially recognized the day in 2018 as a global celebration.
