What is National Wildlife Day?
National Wildlife Day, observed on September 4th, raises awareness about endangered species and the urgent need to protect them. Founded in 2005 by animal behaviourist Colleen Paige, the day was later extended to February 22nd in memory of Steve Irwin following his death in 2006, making wildlife conservation a twice-yearly cause worth rallying around.
